8/25/2009 Winterize CCTV and IP Cameras
Dotworkz has been the first name in outdoor CCTV /IP camera housings for over 10 years with extreme condition deployments in the harshest climates in the world. Placement of CCTV, IP or HD cameras intended for outdoor security and monitoring use in frozen rain, snow, ice and extreme cold, -40 degrees or below can mean vision performance problems, critical failure and/or expensive service calls.
Our 2009 Dotworkz D Series Ring of Fire de-icing system keeps CCTV and IP cameras protected and free of vision-impairing ice. The Dotworkz housings not only protect sensitive cameras, but also provide extra space needed for additional hardware, such as wireless radios, mesh, intercoms, SCADA, mini personal computers, NVRs, and other accessories. This saves money since it is possible to deploy indoor-rated hardware safely inside the D2 or D3's IP66-rated airtight/watertight vandal-resistant shell as a "single box" install. The D Series Ring of Fire cold-weather housing is available in the D2 standard form factor that fits most pan-tilt-zoom CCTV or IP cameras on the market. If more space is required, the bigger D3 version has almost twice the internal cargo room. Both D Series models utilize a specialized, nonmetallic thermoplastic that is noncorrosive, impact-, UV- and temperature-resistant, making these housing the strongest and most versatile.
The internal Ring of Fire de-icing system features an oversized 360-degree, 60-watt heating band that is thermostatically activated when internal temperatures fall below 60-degrees Fahrenheit. Twin-high flow fans ensure that heated air is circulated through and around the external lower bubble lens so that it remains clear and ice free. When ordering the D Series Ring of Fire D2 or D3, be sure to ask about Dotworkz recommended accessories such as pole mount adapters, angle correction plates, internal accessory trays, Dome cleaner pro kit for lower bubble, or the Ring of Fire static housing for smaller non-PTZ, brick-style CCTV cameras.
