2010 was filled with exciting times and new technologies for the Dotworkz team and the security industry as a whole. With HD video camera solutions gaining market share, better video means cameras are becoming more important. Not to mention 4G-based camera networking coupled with smaller, faster computers is on the horizon for 2011.

This year we made changes and product additions so that our users benefit from these leaps in technology. For instance we have our new S-Type (the S is for stabilized, static, solid...) which is now not only the most feature rich "professional grade" HD camera housing on the market but it is made in the USA.

The 3G/4G broadband hype is now just coming into range for remote camera deployments, therefore our D2, D3 and S-Type camera protection systems are all ready to go for all the different air card router combinations. We even provide a way to power these accessories right off the Multi Volt Platform that comes standard on most models.

Our software ready NVR lineup this year is amazing! Simpler than ever with warranty and build specs that will make the competition turn green(er) with envy. The processing speeds, hard drive options and new price points make our 2011 NVR line a refreshingly simple "include" for all milestone/onssi/axis/ipconfigure software related camera projects.

As an insider, look for some healthy price reductions to make this year easier on your margins as well.

2010 was the year of the Dotworkz Ring of Fire Enclosure technology being vastly deployed to protect surveillance systems from the harsh winter environment in Alaska. Several projects were fulfilled in Alaska, including a couple spearheaded by our integration partners ATS Alaska.

Rob Prady, Security Product Manager for ATS Alaska had these comments regarding how the Ring of Fire protects camera operations in extremely cold temperatures:

"Our company installed Ring of Fire Enclosures in Deadhorse, Alaska last fall. The enclosures kept the cameras warm and operational throughout the entire winter. If you are not familiar with Deadhorse, it is the main base for the oil fields of Alaska. It is north of the Arctic Circle and near the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Winter temperatures in Deadhorse regularly exceed 50 degrees below zero (F) with high winds and large amounts of blowing snow. The Dotworkz Ring of Fire Enclosures are the only 'off the shelf' housings that I have found to work well in this environment."

ATS Alaska also recently partnered with ScanSource Security to complete a 200+ Dotworkz S-Type Enclosure installation for the Mat-Su Borough School District in Palmer, Alaska.

The reason why the Ring of Fire was chosen for these projects is because of the technology it utilizes. Enclosed in each model is a 65 Watt De-icing/Defrosting Circuitry that keeps the entire enclosure as well as the camera's view free from any snow or ice. Not only will the camera be protected from becoming nonoperational due to freezing temperatures, but also any additional equipment stored inside will be completely secure and continue to function in even the harshest blizzard conditions. This unique all around heating design in all 3 models of housings makes the Ring of Fire the correct choice for surveillance systems in locations with icy, snowy and frigid winters.
